Native Odessan and New York-based composer, Gilbert Galindo curates a special concert for an evening of trumpet, piccolo, and piano music. Music by Maurice Ravel, Kent Kennan, and Georg Philipp Telemann will be heard along with the Texas premieres of “My soul waits” for piano, “Pause - for a moment” for piccolo and piano, and “The wind blows where it wills” for trumpet and piano by Gilbert Galindo. Mr. Galindo will perform on trumpet and give brief talks about the music and the life of a composer in the 21st century. He will be joined by MOSC flutist Katherine Velasquez on piccolo and Midland-Odessa’s powerhouse pianist Shari Santorelli. The concert is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted.
